What is Cooks at Home?

Cooks at Home goes into peoples homes and fills their freezer with home cooked meals, so that people can eat high quality meals with more ease and time efficiency than tasteless supermarket meals and fatty take outs. Cooks at Home provides delicious home cooked ready meals that are made from fresh ingredients and are free from added preservatives and additives.

All food is cooked in the clients own kitchen with their meals cooked to their specification; the ingredients are bought from the clients’ regular supermarket on the day of the cooking. The cooks clean up after themselves and leave the kitchen as they found it.

Personal Chefs: the Personal Chef originated in the US and is enjoying a phenomenal success as more and more people realise they don’t have time to prepare and cook real food at home.

Today many busy people live their lives with the help of professionals such as child carers, cleaners, gardeners, personal fitness trainers, to name but a few. A Personal Cook is in the same league, someone who lightens the load of yet another time consuming chore and enables you to carry on with your busy life without compromising health and lifestyle.

Why do I need Cooks at Home?

Whether your household is single, couple or a family, Cooks at Home can help you make the time to do the things that are important to you while still being able to put delicious, healthy meals on the table!
Reasons why people use a personal chef:

New Parents – a freezer full of nutritious home cooked meals ready to serve while new mums are recuperating in hospital and afterwards when you are keeping up with night feeds and all those nappy changes.
New diet regime – have all your induction and follow up meals prepared for you, ready to take out and enjoy. It takes the pressure off the diet and lets you get on with life without the tedium of the weighing, calculating and cooking unusual items, especially if there are other mouths to feed that are not following your diet.
Singles - who crave home cooked meals and just real food but don’t enjoy cooking for one.
Working couples & families – who work long hours and dread the "what’s for dinner?" question, but tired of tasteless salty supermarket meals, take-outs and restaurant food
Overwhelmed Mums – who want to be at ballet recitals, soccer games, swimming competitions, or just some time to play with little ones; who are tired of dragging the kids around the supermarket; frantically trying to get the cleaning, shopping, cooking etc done in-between schools runs, feeling guilty about feeding them fast food, chicken dippers, that are making them bounce off the walls or "glow in the dark".
Family/Friends staying over – have delicious home cooked meals ready to serve your guests so you can enjoy their company and actually spend your time with them rather than in the kitchen.

The list is endless!

Isn't a Personal Chef expensive?

Absolutely not! When was the last time you calculated food costs, your time planning, shopping for, preparing and cleaning up meals?...not to mention all the perishables you purchased and intended to cook but didn't. When employing a Personal Chef, not only are you providing wonderful meals for your family, but buying more time to do the things that are important for you!

Having a Personal Chef come to your home is very affordable. You can actually *buy time* by having your Personal Chef do your shopping, your food preparation, and supply you with easy heating directions. There will be no more food thrown out you didn't have time to prepare, and no more tip calculations. Your Personal Chef will make it so easy to enjoy the evening meal in the comfort of your own home...with your family at your own dinner table!

I have a tiny kitchen can I still use Cooks at Home?

Yes! Personal chefs don’t necessarily need to have ultra-sophisticated professional kitchens, merely something to cook on. All things are taken into account when the menu is designed; during the initial client consultation we will ask you about your kitchen and cooking appliances such as Aga cookers, gas or electric etc so we will be well prepared. Your Personal chef will also have their own equipment that helps them prepare your dishes to perfection.

What type of food do we cook?

Ready home cooked meals are our business. We’ve been cooking and freezing meals for our own families for generations and therefore know what dishes freeze and reheat well. Rather than over complicate dishes we have concentrated on doing the classics really well. Cooks at Home make food that’s great to eat every day: delicious and nutritious. Of course if you have a favourite dish that you know freezes well we would be more than delighted to prepare and cook it for you.

Does freezing reduce the freshness and quality of the food?

NO! Freezing is an excellent way to preserve fresh food. The freezing process itself does not destroy nutrients; when frozen properly at the correct temperature fresh, high quality foods will keep most of their vitamin content, natural colour, flavour and texture.

Do the personal chefs have proper liability insurance?

Yes! Thankfully we have never had to make a claim but all our personal chefs at Cooks at Home are fully insured. All food is cooked and prepared in your own home, in your kitchen so you know exactly what environment your meals have been prepared in.
